Who We Are

TouranChina was born out of a simple frustration: too many foreign visitors were leaving Guangzhou disappointed — not because the city let them down, but because they never got close enough to the real thing.

We are a team of local travel specialists based in Guangzhou. We grew up here, studied here, and have spent years exploring every corner of this city — from the iconic landmarks that appear in every guidebook to the quiet streets, family restaurants, and hidden temples that most tourists walk straight past.

We started small. Our first guests were a retired couple from the UK who wanted three days in Guangzhou without a tour bus in sight. We planned everything by hand — the route, the timing, the meals, the stories behind each place. At the end of the trip, they told us it was the best travel experience of their lives. That moment is why we do this.

Since then, we have welcomed hundreds of independent travelers from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, and beyond. Some come for history. Some come for food. Some just want to slow down and actually feel a place rather than photograph it. We design every trip around the person, not a fixed itinerary.
